From a 1990s Penang Dream to 250 Stores Nationwide

Thirty-one years ago, in 1995, we started CG Computers with a simple dream in Penang. Back then, the computer market was dominated by brands like Dell, Acer and HP, but we were completely captivated by Apple.

We weren't business moguls with a grand master plan; we were simply a team of passionate Apple fans. In the 90s, Apple products weren't common sights in Malaysia, and our biggest goal was to give everyday Malaysians a chance to experience an Apple computer for themselves.

We didn't know back then that the iPhone would eventually become a global phenomenon. We didn't overthink the future. We just knew one thing: we had to keep going. We wanted to share our love for Apple with every Malaysian and make sure our presence reached every city across the country.

Looking back today, it feels surreal. While a lot has changed over three decades, some things haven't. To this day, our headquarters proudly remains right where it all started—in George Town, Penang.

Thanks to your incredible support, we are deeply humbled and thankful to now serve customers all across Malaysia through our 250 stores nationwide, under Switch and Urban Republic.

To every single customer who has walked into a Switch or Urban Republic store over the last 31 years: thank you. Thank you for believing in us, growing with us and sharing this journey.

We wouldn't be here without you, and we can't wait to keep serving you for many more years to come.
