You may have bought your brand new iPhone with a Protective Casing – but how sure are you that it will protect you from unforeseen circumstances such as phone theft? Or perhaps, water damage?
Did you know? More than 100,000 devices are reported stolen every single year in Malaysia? Theft with loss of device also rose from 8% in 2007 to 28% in 2010. With the worsening economy, robberies and criminal cases are on the rise – it’s only a wise choice to have your brand new device insured.
Imagine, a snatch theft happened and you lost all your belongings including your phone. Or. Imagine your device fell into water by accident and although you’re able to retrive it, you can no longer switch it on anymore. Bear in mind, the average cost of repairing a device is over RM600 – and in many cases, you won’t be able to have it repaired. If that’s the case, purchasing a brand new phone will cost you even more! But fret not, we’ve got a solution for you!

Terms and conditions

- Smart Protection Plan (SPP) is only valid when purchase together with new device at Switch.
- Total of one(1) year warranty only. Second(2nd) year renewal subject to approval.
- An "Excess Fee" will be chargeable for iOS hardware covered by SPP that suffer irreparable damage. A new replacement iOS hardware will be provided, but WILL NOT include box packaging or accessories. (as per the chart above)
- A "Top-up Fee" will be charged if coverage value is insufficient to cover the amount of the repairs/replacement.
- Must inform Switch within 15 days and must claim within 30 days of accident occurred, within warranty period.
- Rate is subject to SST charges starting from 1st of September 2018.
- Claim will be subjected for approval. Negligences cases are not eligible for claims.
- Please note that iPad & Apple Watch are non-repairable. Any damages (screen crack, bent or etc) on the devices, it will be under the whole unit replacement program whereby “Full Device Replacement Excess Fee” will be charged.

Can I choose to purchase 2 years of protection from SPP straight in one row for my device?
No. You are not able to do so, as there are certain criteria for customers to fulfil in order to be eligible for the 2nd year renewal.
Which SPP customer will not be eligible for the 2nd year renewal?
Customers who have a full device replacement due to theft e.g will not be eligible.
If my SPP expires in June this year, can I renew the SPP in the month of July/August (Later than June)?
No. Eligible customers who wish to renew for the 2nd year protection, have to renew it within their expiration month.
If my SPP expires in August this year, can I renew the SPP in the month of June/July (Earlier than August)?
No. Eligible customers may only renew their SPP within their expiration month.
How will I know if I am eligible for the 2nd year renewal?
Eligible customers will receive an email from us by the first week of their expiration month, to inform of their eligibility and option for the 2nd year protection. Customers device must in good condition, no damage upon renewal.
If I have made claims during my duration of SPP coverage before, will I be eligible for the 2nd year renewal?
Yes, you are, as long as it wasn’t a “Full Device Replacement due to Theft / Burglary”. However, note that the renewal rates are different for those who have claimed vs those who haven’t claimed before (as per the chart above).
Can I walk into any Switch outlets to renew my SPP?
Yes. Customers who wish to renew their SPP for the 2nd year can walk into the any Switch outlet to renew it.
Do I have to pay fees for whole device replacement?
